Makes me proud once again!
Judd first made me aware of that guy, and if there weren’t an important and competitive Democratic congressional primary race this cycle, I’d totally vote in the GOP primary for Mr. Dot Com to be their candidate for governor.
And I still stand by my idea to have this guy team up with Democrat US Senate candidate Alvin Greene to form the mother of all unity tickets. If we combine Marceaux’s idea to plant grass on every vacant lot in Tennessee to produce ethanol (don’t think too hard on that) to make money and combine it with the proceeds from the sale of Alvin Greene’s proposed Alvin Greene Action Figures then we’ll be swimming in enough cash to balance the budget, save Social Security and Medicare, provide everyone in America with free and quality health care while maintaining our position as the world’s premier fighting force.
On some level I find Marceiux to be inspiring. He just goes to show you that (apparently) suffering from severe head trauma is not an obstacle for running for high political office.
Oh yeah, here’s basilmarceaux.com on Jimmy Kimmel.
I must say, I spent no less than 45 minutes watching various Basil Marceaux videos yesterday. His official website might actually be the best thing ever created. He includes his resume and home address!!
Anyway, here’s my serious suggestion regarding voting strategy for TG. It seems more than likely that the Republican who wins the nomination will ultimately win the election… except in one case.
Now, with the open primaries, you can vote in either party’s election. You claim you don’t want to throw your vote away on Senor Dot-com because you want to vote in the Democratic Congressional primaries. But, here’s where some game theory comes in. How sure are you that the candidate you vote for will the general election if he wins the nomination? Now, balance that against the importance of the gubernatorial race. How important would it be for you that the eventual governor is a Dem – any Dem? See, the Dem gubernatorial candidate is almost guaranteed to lose… unless all the Dems come out to vote in the Republican primary and vote for dot-com. If he win the nomination – and he could if the Dems turned out in mass to vote for him, because the legit Republican votes would split the other legitimate candidates – then even Republicans would be forced to vote for the Dem nominee for Governor over BMdot-com. Of course, the Dems would have to mobilize in large numbers to execute this strategy, but if they did, it would work. Of course, you’d be sacrificing your chance to vote in the Congressional race, but if there’s nothing guaranteed from that anyway, perhaps it’s time to put your collective eggs in the Basil Marceaux basket!
digg:
In my congressional district, the guy that wins the Democratic primary wins the seat. Period. It was effectively a general election for that seat. So I did, in fact, apply game theory here. I needed to make sure the incumbent wins over the race-baiting, corrupt seven-term former mayor who’s trying to win the primary on an “I’m not white, and I’m certainly not Jewish” platform.
