Have you been watching The Pacific? I must say, I think Band of Brothers was a much stronger series. I don’t know how much of that was the particular theatre of WWII in which it took place, or the particular story line of 101st airborne and Easy company. Band of Brothers definitely had better character development, if you ask me.

So, I mis-parsed “mesothrifty” to mean “moderately thrifty”, as opposed to “epithrifty” (like just not having cable) or “endothrifty” (like buying the extended cable package for a total “savings”).
