So the McCain, in all of his Mighty Maverickness, appears to have thrown his lot in with the House GOP on the economic bailout plan. And what, pray tell, is the House GOP plan? It appears ot be nothing more than a gigantic giveaway to the very people who got us into this mess: Instead [...]

Christians for Obama

Although at least one of the Christians here will undoubtedly go all “No True Scotsman” on them. They’re calling on Christians, whether they support Obama or McCain, to put away falsehood (a nod to Ephesians), and dispel several lies often told about Obama (many of them oft-repeated here by self-described Christians who don’t seem to [...]

Random Conspiracy Musing

After 2000, McCain reportedly flirted with becoming a Democrat. One explanation for the bizarre Dadaist campaign he is running is that he actually did switch parties, but remained a sleeper agent in GOP ranks for the exress purpose of throwing the 2008 election. It would explain a lot.

Blog Watch

This guy (“Vinny”) has a lot of interesting stuff to say. For example, this post on corporations and the free market. We’ll have to keep an eye on that blog, and maybe add it to the blogroll.

That doesn’t matter. Paulson’s request violates an inviolable principle, namely, to repeat, that if a public official demands [...]

Hazing

When the Abu Ghraib scandal hit, Republicans and conservatives dismissed it as being no worse than “hazing.” Apparently, they weren’t as far off the mark as I thought. But I don’t think this is quite what they had in mind when they said “hazing,” either: According to state police reports, a group of juniors assaulted [...]

Interesting Map

I understand that it’s still early, and that a lot of this will inevitably change. However, I think it’s interesting to note that electoral-vote.com currently has Obama winning the electoral college, and has him doing so without Florida, Ohio, or Virginia:
