Publius hits it out of the park. This is the type and tone of discussion about race we in this country ought to be having. It’s about as level-headed as you’ll find (apart from a couple shots at Roberts).

I’ve said in the past that to some degree, we are all racists; it’s whether we recognize it and what we do about it that matters. Go read it.

For the record, I think Publius’ is too quick to dismiss the type of outward racism that still exists and is still very real; that said, however, the “post-racist” mentality and the ignorance of the consequences of past racism continue to be huge (and underreported) problems.
