Report Is Better Than Expected; 308,000 Positions Created
I am sure we will hear about the wondrous effects of Bush’s tax cuts. The tax cuts that have produced one month in three years that matched the Busies expectations. Notice also that the manufacturing sector showed no improvement — meaning that the jobs created skew toward lower paying service jobs. And we are still in a soft labor market:
In the only other jobless recovery since World War Two, which was the crawl back from the 1990-91 recession, it took 14 months for the number of employed to get back to where it stood when the recession ended.
This time it is 28 months, and counting.
Still, even if its not unalloyed good news, it is good news. Its a lot better than the miserable job performance of the last few months, and l hope it continues.
