Interesting piece form overseas. The shame of this is, the systematic problems he describes are obvious, even to Americans, but the political process seems oblivious to them. The simple fact of the matter is we have regulations for the same reasons we have laws: there will always be people who do not play by the rules. Unfortunately, the last twenty years of “do-nothing” republicanism have left the unscrupulous without checks, and we are now paying the price.
